Determining Proper Blog Length

If you are writing a money making blog you are probably looking for ways to intrigue your audience while keeping them entertained. The length of each blog post is important, but should not be a restriction.

Most blog posts are between 250 and 350 in length. While this is a general rule, it is not a hard, fast one. Blogs are meant to convey a single or idea in a way that makes other think, act or both.

The content is the most important factor. You want it to be accurate and informative. That said, it is not necessary to write everything you know about the topic, but rather to give readers a taste of what they’ll find if they click on a particular link or sign up for a specific service. The same goes for purchasing a product. You want to make them feel as if they can’t do without it. Be thorough but brief. Write what needs to be written, but give them something to think about after they have read it.

Use words that encourage readers to want to take action. You want them walking away from the reading experience thinking “oh wow, I really learned something from this person”, or “I want to go to this website and learn more about this product. I probably want to purchase it.”

The more informed you are about the products or services you are selling as well as the particular industry itself, the more believable you will be to your readers. You want them to recognize your knowledge and wisdom so they will trust you. If you achieve trust, you will be that much closer to selling your product and your business.
